Yoga Therapy

(Re)Connecting with YourSelf

Yoga therapy recognizes that yoga is more than a physical practice of asanas. It works to join the body, breath and mind in search of our inner wisdom that (re)connects us to our highest and truest Self. Yoga therapy honors what your body, breath, mind and spirit need and seeks to find balance through its practice.

Yoga therapy increases your relationship with your physical body, breath, thoughts and emotions. Shifts happen as you gain greater awareness of these aspects of your self. In yoga therapy, I serve as your guide and offer suggestions that you get to choose to implement in the way that feels best for your body and inner experience.

If you are located in the state of Florida, Rachel can incorporate yoga therapy into psychotherapy services.

My Story

Finding Your Teacher

It is tradition in the yoga lineage, to send gratitude to your teachers that have helped you on your journey.

Finding a teacher is not easy. To know what we want, need and where to find it can be a challenging part of the journey.

I began practicing yoga in 2009 in fitness centers. The first time I felt my anandamaya kosha, where we feel bliss and unity with all, I went in search of teachers who could help me understand and deepen this practice.

I am grateful to my teachers in my 200-hour RYT program at YogaFit and 300-hour RYT program at Body Balance Yoga. My Masters of Science degree in Applied Psychology at Eastern Washington University gave me additional training which allowed me to meet the criteria to become a Certified Yoga Therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapists. I then went on to study in programs through teachers at LifeForce Yoga, ViniYoga, 3 Wisdoms Traditions, Inner Peace Yoga Therapy and Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy.

I understand that finding the right teacher is deeply personal and influenced by where we are in life and what we are needing now. I am always honored and humbled to be part of my students' and clients' journeys and hope to be part of yours.
